When I was 25 years old, Dick Sutphen published "You Were Born Again To Be Together". I was reading Carlos Castaneda, Hermann Hess, Ram Dass, and others but knew little about hypnosis other than a brief lecture and demo in one of my Psych classes at UMD. What would my life have been like if I had watched TV back then and saw Mr. Supthen on one of the talk shows? I never watched TV and would never have watched a talk show. Best selling book, yet somehow I missed it. I just found out about him this year when someone mentioned that she studied under the great hypnotist Dick Sutphen. |

You may have heard that the subconscious mind does not know the difference between real and imagined phenomena. That’s why we get scared and sometimes have visceral reactions to horror films, cry at sad films, etc. Our conscious mind knows that we are just watching a film that is not real but our subconscious mind does not. We understand that and still we react, so how do such phenomena affect children and babies? At certain ages the difference between real and imagined is blurred, perhaps nonexistent. |

Past Life or MSU by Janis KC Jarvis
MSU stands for make stuff
up. Sometimes human beings cannot tell if they have remembered a
Past Life or if they are just making it up. Once in a while, clients
will come out of a past life regression and report that they think
they just made it up. Even if while they were in trance, they
expressed no doubt but reported the memories in great detail and with
an element of surprise. I feel that this notion while it may shock
your hypnotist the first few times it happens, is a legitimate
response and is still “grist for the mill”. |

Life Between Lives
As time seems to stand still, enjoy client-centered past life hypnosis during which you visit your most recent past life and explore your Soul's journey through the Spirit world. In this open approach, you visit the places that are the most significant for you. Although Janis will make suggestions and gently guide you through your journey, once you reach the astral plane, you may select your destinations and control your reports. Janis will take notes and debrief you afterwards. |

Have you ever been overly worried about a person, relationship, or situation? I have made a list of 12 ways to deal with it. I am going to share 5 with you now. There are many more, but these 5 should do for now. These 5 are easy and you can do those right away.
The other 7 will work better if I facilitate them for you. Click the "Contact Us" if you wish to learn more.
* Do something creative. Color or draw. Write or journal (share with your therapist or hypnotist if you have one).

Are you curious about past life regression? One of my clients asked me about my experience doing past life regressions and how the sessions go etc. I thought maybe some of you would like to know too so I am sharing my response with you. In a nutshell:
I have been doing them since my certification in 2009. I usually begin with a full induction including deepening techniques and then use a series of techniques--usually taking the person back from their current age or directly to the place where memories are stored and then ask them to go to a significant event that will shed light and healing on a particular issue that we are working on; this can take them to an event in any life. |

Today the librarian asked me if I work with people with dementia. I do not yet. I said I would be willing to take it on; however, I explained that I was not sure how effective that would be since they might not remember the suggestions. Guess what? I was wrong. A study done in Liverpool, England has shown that hypnosis was the most effective of all of the treatment choices studied. There is a program for it that I am investigating and perhaps soon I will get formal training in using hypnosis with clients with dementia! |

Forgiveness. What have you learned about it? If you are one who knows that the lack of forgiveness causes stress and blocks your prosperity but for some reason just cannot forgive everyone, here is a poem for you. If you wish to forgive someone, hold that person in mind and read this poem 3 times. You will soon feel a shift as tension leaves you and is replaced by ease and peace. How does Transpersonnal Hypnotherapy work? Charles Fillmore knew:
"The superconscious mind lifts up, or regenerates, both the subconscious and the conscious,.." "The subconscious exists for the benefit of the conscious mind, but unless regenerated it thwarts the efforts of the conscious at every step, so that 'ye may not do the things that ye would'." Charles Fillmore, Keep a True Lent
This is one way to look at Transpersonnal Hypnotherapy, which joins body, mind and spirit to effect positive change. |

Hypnotherapy by the Bay is located in Severna Park, near Annapolis and Baltimore MD and may offer the best hypnosis in the Universe. Perhaps one day you will visit and experience what some have called a Miracle here for yourself. But for now, here is how it all came about:
Many years ago on August 27th, it was a clear beautiful day in MD and I experienced two amazing revelations. One was that the baby I was carrying was a girl and the most amazing and beautiful baby ever born! I had never experienced that level of joy before and was overwhelmed by it. |
